Hank Staggs directs the Governor’s Academy for School Leadership, an aspiring principal’s academy operating in partnership between the Tennessee governor’s office, the Tennessee Department of Education, and Vanderbilt University’s Peabody College. Previously, Hank served as director of educational leadership in the college of education at Lipscomb University. At Lipscomb, he served as founding director and led the design and implementation of the Ayers Leadership Fellows program for aspiring school leaders.

Prior to working in higher education, Hank served as a school principal in Tennessee for fourteen years following five years of teaching high school mathematics. Hank holds a doctor of education in administration and supervision and is credentialed as an Associate Certified Coach (ACC) from the International Coach Federation (ICF).
