Dr. Forray received a Ph.D. in Management from the University of Massachusetts-Amherst with a focus on organizational behavior and organization theory. She spent four years on the faculty at Eastern Connecticut State University before joining the faculty at Western New England University, where she has worked for over 20 years and from which she will be retired as of May 2023. Prior to her academic career, Dr. Forray spent 15 years as a manager in the entertainment industry.
While at Western New England, Dr. Forray served as Management Department chair for eight years, founded and served for five years as director of Sophomore Experience Abroad, a semester-long international residency program in London for business students, co-chaired for two years a university-wide task force on internationalization as part of the university’s strategic planning process, and served for two years as President of the University Faculty Senate. Dr. Forray is a Fellow of the Eastern Academy of Management, Fellow and past-President of the Management and Organizational Behavior Teaching Society, and was twice named Erskine Teaching Fellow by the University of Canterbury, New Zealand. Dr. Forray was founding Editor-in-Chief of Organization Management Journal, founding Co-Editor-in-Chief of Management Teaching Review, and Co-Editor-in-Chief of Journal of Management Education. Dr. Forray is a Qualified Administrator of the Intercultural Development Inventory (IDITM) and Co-Director of Seneca Consortium LLC, an organization that provides faculty development services to individuals and institutions involved in business and management education.
Dr. Forray’s research is intentionally eclectic so that she is free to pursue interesting and timely projects as they arise. Her most recent research focuses on the development of leadership skills, the use of experiential teaching methods in management education, and career development within higher education. Dr. Forray has authored or co-authored numerous published articles in her field, and is Co-Editor of the book series, Teaching Methods in Business, published by Edward Elgar Publishing.
