Campus Convenings
Students and faculty in the Leadership and Learning in Organizations Ed.D. program will meet at the Vanderbilt University campus in Nashville, Tennessee, three times throughout the program for an on-campus convening. These meetings provide an opportunity for Ed.D. students to strengthen their connections as a cohort; develop familiarity with the Peabody campus and the resources available to them; and work collaboratively on capstone-related activities.
Campus Convening I
First-year students come to campus early in their first term to meet one another and discover the range of resources designed to support their journey through the LLO program. Students spend a day and a half on campus learning from each other and from various faculty from throughout Peabody College. (This convening occurs when students are enrolled in LLO 8110: Leadership Theory and Practice.)
Campus Convening II
Students come together in their sixth term to launch their capstone projects. They participate in an interactive, day-long session, learning more about the capstone process and hearing from a panel of faculty advisors before observing capstone presentations and Q&A roundtables with student presenters. The day concludes with a preview of the key milestones and deliverables for the 3-semesters of course work dedicated to capstone. (This convening occurs when students are enrolled in LLO 8190: Qualitative Modes of Inquiry.)
Campus Convening III
Students in their final term gather on campus and present their capstone projects to faculty, practitioners, and classmates. This convening concludes with a celebratory reception. (This convening occurs when students are enrolled in LLO 8910: Capstone Seminar II.)
