Shane Hutton is a lecturer in the Department of Psychology and Human Development. He received an M.A. and Ph.D. in quantitative psychology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Additionally, he attended Virginia Tech, where he obtained his M.S. in mathematics and his B.S. in mathematics and psychology. Recently, he served as a teaching fellow at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and an adjunct instructor at Durham Tech. His research interests include analyzing student completion data using survival analysis techniques. He specializes in studying bachelor’s degree completion of community college transfer students.
